Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

At 7:00 AM, our team will be at your service to collect you from your preferred location – whether it’s your hotel, residence, or even the Nairobi airport – for a seamless journey to Wilson Airport.

Upon reaching Wilson Airport, you’ll be welcomed aboard your awaiting aircraft, setting the course for a roughly one-hour flight that will transport you to the heart of the Masai Mara.

As your aircraft soars gracefully above the expansive Kenyan terrain, you’ll be treated to an aerial spectacle that includes panoramic views of the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro and the striking escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. These captivating vistas will undoubtedly be a fitting prologue to the enchanting experiences that await you amidst the wild beauty of the Mara.

This first short ride to your accommodation will be your introduction to the striking grasslands and picturesque acacia trees of the Masai Mara Reserve.

Settle in at your safari lodge or tented camp and get ready for lunch. There, over your first meal in the reserve, your guide will discuss various aspects of the park and areas you might like to explore.

Then it’s time to hop into your open-top 4 x 4 Jeep for a more extended game drive into the reserve. You probably won’t have to go far before spotting some of the park’s prodigious wildlife. All of Africa’s ‘Big Five’ are found here – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo.

In fact, the Masai Mara is the densest ecosystem in the region with more than 95 mammal species treading over its rolling hills and nestled by its rivers.

Remember, while our guest, you get to choose the pace and schedule of your safari. Go on as many game drives as you please. Or, you can take rest breaks back at your accommodation. Just discuss with your guide how you’d like to plan your safari.

Note: For those guests staying at conservancies who wish to travel to the Mara triangle area to view the Great Migration river crossings, there is an $80 per person surcharge.

Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner

Day 2: Full Day – Masai Mara

Embracing the rhythm of safari time entails an early awakening, allowing you to relish the gentle illumination spreading across the plains and the mesmerizing sight of wildlife awakening to a new day. Today’s agenda promises a full day of immersive game drives, offering you the freedom to tailor your experiences as you see fit.

If your visit coincides with the remarkable spectacle of the Great Migration, occurring between July and October, you’ll bear witness to one of the Earth’s most awe-inspiring natural phenomena. An unbroken procession of wildebeests and zebras will grace the reserve, crossing the Mara River during their annual migration.

As these intrepid travelers venture forth, a silent audience awaits – the park’s array of predators, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and the stealthy crocodiles concealed beneath the river’s surface.

Amidst this theater of nature, you’ll have the opportunity to observe this captivating drama and spectacle unfold, perhaps taking a pause to indulge in a picturesque picnic lunch down by the tranquil waters of the Mara River.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi

As we embark upon our last day of this remarkable safari journey, let’s greet the sun and the awakening wildlife in unison, basking in the marvels of nature that surround us. The day begins with an early game drive, setting the stage for another opportunity to encounter a diverse array of species engaged in their morning routines across the expansive plains.

Upon returning to our lodge or tented camp, a safari-inspired breakfast awaits, allowing us to savor not only the flavors but also the memories of the captivating encounters we’ve experienced over the course of the past three days.

However, it’s now time to step into our trusted 4×4 Jeep, as we embark on one final exhilarating game drive. This drive holds a dual purpose, as we traverse the landscape en route to the airstrip that will carry us back to Nairobi. Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the common questions which our clients ask as they plan for their African safari.

Do i need visa/passport?

Yes! To visit Kenya you will definitely require a passport and a visa. Your passport should have at least 2 blank pages and should be valid for a minimum of 6 months past your arrival date. This is to ensure that its validity does not expire before your safari is over.

There are 3 ways to obtain a tourist visa to Kenya;

  1. Visit a Kenyan embassy and apply
  2. On entry to Kenya you can apply for a landing visa. For a landing visa, you need to present your passport. A visa application form and a landing cad will be provided for you to fill out. You will then be required to pay the visa fee in US dollars, which is 50 USD.
  3. For a Visa to Kenya you can apply only by visiting http://evisa.go.ke/evisa.html
Can my children accompany me during the safaris?

Of course! The most beautiful African safari experiences are had as a family. Your children will enjoy seeing the many animals they only read about in books or watch in the movies.

It will be a memorable experience for them. However, it would help if you continually keep your children in sight, especially when in the bush or in a camping site or lodge. Some camps and lodges are not fenced and wild animals roam around freely. Safari guides, however, are always on the lookout to keep you and your children safe.

Kindly let us know during booking if your children will accompany you so that we can make prior arrangements to make their stay comfortable.

What do you mean by unlimited game drives?

A safari is all about freedom and flexibility in exploring the wild. This is what we give our guests. We give you freedom to exclusive wildlife viewing with no restriction on fuel and mileage.

As long as you are within the designated game drive area and the park’s operational hours you can drive for as long as you want. The game drive area also has to be in accordance to your itinerary. For example, if your itinerary reads ‘explore Maasai Mara National Park’, you can drive within Maasai Mara all day but at no one point can you cross over the Mara River into The Serengeti.

Are there bathrooms in the bush?

Your bathroom needs will catered for throughout the safari. There are several public bathroom facilities around picnic sites, camps, lodges ranger stations, visitor centers and museums.

This being a private safari there might not be any public bathroom facilities in sight. However, you will be given an opportunity to use bush bathrooms when no vehicle can be spotted nearby.

The big safari vehicle will keep you hidden as you go about your business. Bush bathrooms are convenient and you will adapt to them.

What kind of clothing should i bring with me?

For comfort throughout the safari, bring with you light casual clothes. Avoid extreme colors; not too dark (black and dark blue are a no) and not too bright. Try neutral colors.

Safari clothing tips

  • Avoid dark colors like black and dark blue. Recommended safari colors are brown, green, khaki, olive and beige.
  • Lightweight jacket or windbreaker
  • Casual, loose-fitting clothes
  • Comfortable walking shoes (i.e. Sneakers, hiking shoes)
  • Sandals or flip-flops
  • Swimsuit
  • Hat
  • Extra cotton socks and underwear
  • One warm sweater
