Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi- Amboseli National Park: (240 km: 4 hrs Approx.)

At 07:30 AM, our team will be ready to collect you from your accommodations in Nairobi, whether it’s your hotel, residence, or the Nairobi airport.

Our journey commences in the comfort of your own private 4×4 Jeep as we set forth on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. This leisurely drive takes you through the captivating expanse of African savannah, with the serene landscape punctuated by local homesteads that dot the vast plain. Keep an eye out for the picturesque sight of Maasai herdsmen, their vibrant wraps a striking contrast against the backdrop, as they attentively tend to their flocks.

As you enter the park, an awe-inspiring sight immediately captures your attention – the towering presence of the southern mountain wall, none other than the legendary Mt. Kilimanjaro. Revered as the “roof of Africa,” this majestic peak soars to a staggering 19,000 feet. Notably, it claims the title of the continent’s highest summit and stands as the world’s tallest free-standing mountain.

The magnificence of Mt. Kilimanjaro forms an enchanting backdrop to much of the park’s abundant wildlife, an ever-present gift to photographers and nature enthusiasts alike. Be sure to keep your camera within reach throughout the upcoming three days to capture the wonders that unfold.

As the day evolves into evening, the veil of clouds that occasionally conceals Kilimanjaro’s snow-clad summit might gracefully disperse, revealing one of Africa’s most remarkable and breathtaking vistas. This visual spectacle stands as a testament to the unparalleled beauty that Amboseli National Park offers.

Day 2: Amboseli National Park

After this invigorating start, it’s time for a well-deserved breakfast, energizing us for the upcoming endeavors. Another morning game drive through the park awaits, offering a chance to explore the captivating landscape once more. One of Amboseli’s remarkable attributes is its open terrain with sparse foliage, which greatly facilitates the spotting of wildlife.

During this drive, our gaze will be fixed on spotting the elusive lion and leopard, two of Africa’s most iconic predators. Moreover, one of the park’s defining features is the nearly ever-present grand procession of elephants. Witnessing these majestic creatures parading across the landscape in the presence of Kilimanjaro’s grandeur is an exceptional highlight unique to this reserve.

Following these exciting encounters, lunch beckons at your accommodation, and there’s the opportunity for some leisurely relaxation. The day is yours to shape as you desire.

Should your heart long for a day brimming with endless game drives, rest assured that your guide is readily available to fulfill this wish. Whether you choose to partake in additional explorations or savor moments of tranquility, the flexibility is yours to embrace.

Day 3: Amboseli – Nairobi: (240 km: 4 hrs drive Approx.)

Our final day in the park and we want to squeeze in all the game viewing we can. We’ll start on a pre-breakfast safari and see who we can check off our list. Don’t forget to look for the smaller animals here like hyenas, foxes, jackals and monkeys.

There’s also a colorful variety of rich birdlife in the park – pelican, kingfisher, egret and heron are found near the park’s marshes and lakes.

We’ll enjoy one more Amboseli breakfast, with views of great Kilimanjaro and then a final game drive as we exit the reserve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the common questions which our clients ask as they plan for their African safari.

Do i need visa/passport?

Yes! To visit Kenya you will definitely require a passport and a visa. Your passport should have at least 2 blank pages and should be valid for a minimum of 6 months past your arrival date. This is to ensure that its validity does not expire before your safari is over.

There are 3 ways to obtain a tourist visa to Kenya;

  1. Visit a Kenyan embassy and apply
  2. On entry to Kenya you can apply for a landing visa. For a landing visa, you need to present your passport. A visa application form and a landing cad will be provided for you to fill out. You will then be required to pay the visa fee in US dollars, which is 50 USD.
  3. For a Visa to Kenya you can apply only by visiting http://evisa.go.ke/evisa.html
Can my children accompany me during the safaris?

Of course! The most beautiful African safari experiences are had as a family. Your children will enjoy seeing the many animals they only read about in books or watch in the movies.

It will be a memorable experience for them. However, it would help if you continually keep your children in sight, especially when in the bush or in a camping site or lodge. Some camps and lodges are not fenced and wild animals roam around freely. Safari guides, however, are always on the lookout to keep you and your children safe.

Kindly let us know during booking if your children will accompany you so that we can make prior arrangements to make their stay comfortable.

What do you mean by unlimited game drives?

A safari is all about freedom and flexibility in exploring the wild. This is what we give our guests. We give you freedom to exclusive wildlife viewing with no restriction on fuel and mileage.

As long as you are within the designated game drive area and the park’s operational hours you can drive for as long as you want. The game drive area also has to be in accordance to your itinerary. For example, if your itinerary reads ‘explore Maasai Mara National Park’, you can drive within Maasai Mara all day but at no one point can you cross over the Mara River into The Serengeti.

Are there bathrooms in the bush?

Your bathroom needs will catered for throughout the safari. There are several public bathroom facilities around picnic sites, camps, lodges ranger stations, visitor centers and museums.

This being a private safari there might not be any public bathroom facilities in sight. However, you will be given an opportunity to use bush bathrooms when no vehicle can be spotted nearby.

The big safari vehicle will keep you hidden as you go about your business. Bush bathrooms are convenient and you will adapt to them.

What kind of clothing should i bring with me?

For comfort throughout the safari, bring with you light casual clothes. Avoid extreme colors; not too dark (black and dark blue are a no) and not too bright. Try neutral colors.

Safari clothing tips

  • Avoid dark colors like black and dark blue. Recommended safari colors are brown, green, khaki, olive and beige.
  • Lightweight jacket or windbreaker
  • Casual, loose-fitting clothes
  • Comfortable walking shoes (i.e. Sneakers, hiking shoes)
  • Sandals or flip-flops
  • Swimsuit
  • Hat
  • Extra cotton socks and underwear
  • One warm sweater
